One of The Main Causes of Anxiety Attacks is Shock and What You Can Do

There may be many Causes Of Anxiety attacks, but by far the most common one is that you have been involved in or witnessed a traumatic or shocking experience. One which was life threatening.

For instance, if you were badly abused as a child, you will have learned that to be on constant alert could save you from further abuse. But you can’t stay in constant alert all the time. Your body can’t cope with that. So you remain anxious all the time, but extremely so periodically.

The triggers may be a simple reminder of the sounds that occurred prior to the abuse. Something as simple as closing a door.

Being involved in a bad accident is very life threatening, so can cause them.

As is being told you have a potentially fatal disease.

The important thing to remember is that any shock or trauma is one of the most likely causes of anxiety attacks. And that you have got stuck in that shock or trauma.

Not every one gets stuck in a trauma, but because of the intensity and it is potentially fatal, many do.

But it’s common not to remember the cause it it was many years ago. You have moved on, buried the experience as it wasn’t helping you. But it still is waiting to be resolved. The attacks show that.
